VPS = virtual private server. Sometimes also called a "root server"

A VPS comes with full "root" or "Administrator" access, so you can install your own software

You can login to your VPS via the Blacknight control panel.

Please ensure you use a STRONG password - weak passwords are easily compromised

If you need to upgrade from one VPS plan to another you can do so from within the control panel, though Blacknight may need to finalise the upgrade for you

There are basically two flavours of Linux VPS on offer:

• Without Plesk
• Plesk Powered

You can choose which Linux distribution you want to use from a variety available

VPS are not available with *BSD
